INTRODUCTION

Now, as I write this it is the day before Election Day 2022. So, I don't actually know who's going to win. But because I plan to release this on Wednesday, you will know the results.

I predict that a bunch of you are going to be really happy and a bunch of you will not.  Some of you are going to be extremely excited about your future, and some of you may be scared to death.

NOT ABOUT POLITICS....BUT

This blog/website/series IS NOT going to be about politics.  But I do want to make this one real fast point.

If today you are saying things like “Yeah. In your face!” to people, because your “team” won, you're doing politics wrong. It's about your ideas winning, not about your “team” winning. Go find a real sport, not politics.

And if you're somebody who is  sitting there just absolutely scared to death, feeling like your life is over, because a particular candidate won or set of candidates won. Get a grip. Yes, there may be changes you may not like, but it's not going to be the end of the world.  You're the one making that decision.

NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE UNTIL AFTER JAN. 1

Here's the thing. Regardless of which side you are on, in most cases nothing is going to change until after the first of the year. Most places don't change elected officials until early January.

LET'S DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT

You've got to be tired of all the politics by now, all of you, whether you're into it or not. Let's put aside politics just for the next 50 some days until January again. But what do we replace it with?

EXIT POLITICS, ENTER CHRISTMAS

What about Christmas? That's something we can mostly all agree on whether we observe a sacred celebration, secular celebration, or combination of the two. And yes, I know some of you don't celebrate Christmas at all,  but you can still appreciate some of the ideals that are associated with it.

SACRED AND SECULAR

In tomorrow's post I'm going to talk more about the sacred and the secular celebrations. But, we will be talking about traditions and symbols of both in this series.

NEEDCHRISTMAS.COM

My whole purpose for creating this NEEDChristmas.com is that I want us to take the  time between now and the first of the year to put away the politics,  the vitriol and hatred and stop calling people names.

Let's focus on just being human beings for a while.

There are so many great ideas and sentiments that come out of this season. Let's enjoy them.

Because, if we have ever needed Christmas, it's this year. We need Christmas!

"WE NEED CHRISTMAS" SERIES

Each day through the video or blog post I will be bringing you another installment of the "We NEED Christmas" series. I think you're going to enjoy learning about some of the history, traditions, thoughts and challenges that I'm going to give you each and every day to work toward having a peaceful season.

TODAY'S CHALLENGE

My challenge for today is just to make peace with all your political stuff. Put it away until January. Then you can bring it back out and start calling each other names again....if you want to.

But hopefully at the end of this, you're are not going to want to.

Have a GREAT day!
